From IIF file to QuickBooks Online in four simple steps — nothing to download, nothing to install.
Export an IIF file from your legacy accounting system and upload it to QBO Link. Simply drag and drop or use the file browser. We accept standard IIF files from any source — no special formatting required.
Before anything touches QuickBooks, QBO Link parses your file and shows you exactly what will be imported. Our validation engine automatically checks for:
You're in full control. Use checkboxes to select exactly which records to import and which to skip. Duplicates are flagged automatically so you can deselect them. Import 10 records or 10,000 — your choice.
QBO Link sends your selected records to QuickBooks Online via Intuit's official API. You'll see a summary of what was imported, including any records that were skipped or encountered errors. Open QuickBooks Online and verify — your data is there.
IIF stands for Intuit Interchange Format. It's a tab-delimited text file format originally designed by Intuit for importing and exporting data to and from QuickBooks Desktop. Many legacy accounting systems, industry-specific software, and enterprise applications export financial data in IIF format.
While QuickBooks Online doesn't natively import IIF files, QBO Link bridges that gap — reading the IIF data, validating it, and importing it into QBO through the official API.
